touche. but here goes hoping for some kind of rwd sedan i dont care what engine drives it so long as theres 300hp or more, and does 0-60 n less than 6 secs. i can finally hang w/ some real luxury sedans instead of driving like a mad man to keep up.
They said this for the new Lincolns that are coming out, its not true for the MKS, MKT, and Navigator those both can go over 60k
the new Lincoln's being the MKX, MKZ, and MKwhatever the hell CUV based on the Escape
Also Lincoln has said they are getting their own unique V6, so who knows what they will do with that![]()

also w/ my immediate experience in the insurance field with my ls. they are a bit on the expensive side sheet metal wise some how my cars damage is 10k worth. well thats how much i got for it all and all. my vicky can take a stab at a wall at 50 and drive away, but she gets like 12mpg too so...shruggs
Do they go over 60k when optioned out? I think they were talking about base price. When a Mustang that's as fast as an M3 only costs 32k I honestly have a hard time expecting the Lincoln version would cost significantly more.
The LS was roughly in line with a base V8 stang, right? And it was a high 30k car when the 'Stang was a high 20k car, I'd put my money on the difference being similar to that.
Also let's be honest with ourselves, nobody would buy a 60k performance car from Lincoln. From Ford, and if that car's name is Mustang, the answer is yes, but for anything else that answer is no. (even tho Taurus SHO's have been selling very well, but that car is around the LS' price)
The LS topped out around the $50K mark in '06, but if you actually spent that much you probably didn't even get a reach-around...well in 06 i recall the ls ultimate was 60k topped out mustang was mid 30k.
too small of a market for Lincoln.
You're correct that they aren't same platform, but they do share one element. They aren't.. The LS only shares the chassis with the S-type and Thunderbird.. They were going to use the LS platform but couldn't make it affordable
BTW, were have you been? Haven't seen you on here in awhile.![]()
qftany swapped engine would do..![]()
And its a 15 year old vehicle.
Im not the one trying to start a pissing contest but if i wanted to race i would have bought a sports car not a luxury sedan.
If i really wanted to i could go buy a $5,000 car that would smoke the piss out of your mazda but thats not my intention.
