Ok my dealer gave me this card about 6 months ago that is supposed to give me back 5% on all parts and service. So whenever I get my oil changed, tires rotated or anything I get the rebate. I bought my plugs from them and they said I can't use it for parts, but the program says it's good for parts. I was just wondering if any of you shared the same experience.

My local dealer is a rip to buy parts outright from. Is cheaper to call Maxx @ Five Star. I'm yet to have a need for his services yet as everything I've needed up to this point has been an easy/cheap local find.

I call my local parts department if I need something NOW. When on the phone, they give me the price. And I tell them "that's list price. I never pay list price." Then they put me on hold, come back and give a price at least 25% lower. Puts them closer to max's prices with shipping.

Otherwise if I can wait a few days, I order it from Max.

Yeah I usually don't buy parts there but I already have like $30 on the card from random stuff plus they give you $10 to start off. The only part I ever bought there was the 8 plugs and I should have got like $4 more on the card. Does anyone else here even have an Lincoln Owner Advantage card?

They gave me one when I had some transmission work done a few months back. I haven't read the terms and such yet.

Have one. I get cashback in the form of dealer credit (applicable towards future parts and service).

That is how mine works. I have accumilated between the 3 ford vehicles I have several free oil changes and probably $150 off of other repairs.

I have been there alot..... :(

Same for my 01. Clockspring (par for the course), COPs (wheee! :D ), missing front license plate holder (bought from a state that didn't require it - stupid IA, though I like the low speeding fines) and damaged FEM wiring (no horn and an inactive aux pump) <-- a real doozy since only the dealer can mess around with the FEM.

i work at a dealer so i'll give you guys a quick rundown on ford's program.

basically its offered by ford to dealers and how it works is 5% on parts and service puchases can be credited to the card. now the other perks are decided by the dealer per program but are usually the same. the cards are only good for that issuing and not at other locations. also of the perks are coming from that dealer. ford only does the promo for the program and doesnt pay for the 5% credit or any of that. also its not a credit card, think of it as a customer rewards card much like a lot of the retail stores and gas stations offer.

typically its 5% credit, 4 paid oil changes 5th is free, $10 free sign up bonus credit, and $100 new vehicle purchase credit to be used in sales dept when you buy a new vehicle. $500 max credit redemption per year.

thats what it is at mine and for all of the harold zeigler autogroup dealers in michigan and illinois. may be the same nation wide who knows.

as far as the parts thing, for whatever reason they probably didnt know how to credit your rewards card based off of a parts invoice. or if they were giving you a deal on pricing already they may not have been willing to give you what basically is and additional 5% off. but in general it is good for anything from quick oil changes and maintenance to actual service work to just purchases made directly through the parts department. hope that all helps
