That's a start in the right direction. I have to tell you...I am so disappointed in Lincoln right now. My mom owned a F/L/M dealership for over 20 years. My blood runs blue. But for the first time in I can't remember, I'm driving something else now. Lincoln killed the LS and in the process killed the value of existing LS's out there. They killed the Aviator...and you should see what the value of my wife's 03 Aviator is worth now. It has fallen thousands of dollars in the last 6 months. I really think the quality of Lincoln is very good. Our Aviator has 40K on the clock and has been nearly problem free. To this day, it performs extremely well, has absolutely no rattles in it, is tight and responsive. Too bad it's not worth a tinker's damn.
Lincoln MUST go in a new direction. I see that coming with their new line up, but again, they have totally missed the boat. Buyer's these days want cars that are not only luxury sedans, they want performance sedans. Cadillac is kicking Lincoln's butt all over the market place because the offer some real, honest power and performance in their cars. In Phoenix, I see 10 Cadillacs to every Lincoln. That's not by accident. There are a lot of people who want V6 cars. But what gets them into the showrooms is the same car with honest V8 performance....even if it has to come in a V6 package. There are some very good performing V6's these days. Unfortunately, Ford doesn't have them right now in their vehicles. When my Acura will run...or out run...my V8 LS, there's something wrong. The Acura comes with W rated tires and there is no speed limiter. Go to the Acura boards and you will see TL's that have surpassed 140 mph. No stock LS will do that. In fact, I can't think of a single Lincoln that would do that unless it was a Mark VIII that was chipped. Please listen to us Lincoln. Build the cars you are building. They look like great cars. But put some power in them. Nobody wants to spend 40 thousand on a car only to have it blown away by a Nissan or Honda with a V6 under the hood.
