Hey lincoln owners , please help , i have a 2002 ls 115k on it, its been over heating on and off for a while now , ive replaced thermostat and bleed , but still has been getting hot on and off , at about 80k it was over heating also and i had the fan clutch assembly replaced and it was fine now its happening again, sometimes it gets really hot then temp goes down , sometimes it just stays hot and i have to pull over and let it cool down and its fine , today it got hot but went back to normal, but after i parked antifrezze started leaking by driver side wheel .? Any suggestion on what it is or what to check ? resivor bottle ? does anyone know where water pump is and if it would leak antifrezze plike that , please help thanks i appretiate any advice

ok so , i thought it was degas bottle leaking , or clutch fan assembly went again, or bad radiator, bad fan, thermostat, bad bleeding , air in the lines , blah blah, after 4 weeks of checking everything and taking my whole car apart and investigating, the cause was a bad solenoid that sends a signal to the fan to the fan to turn on when the car gets to a certain temperature, my fan was spinning but not all full speed , as soon as it was replaced the fan turned onto full speed and runs at its perfect temperature and havent had a problem sense (knock on wood) lol! ok so the solenoid is a pain in the ass to get to , its located right above the alternator , witch u have to get to from the bottom on the car by the passenger side wheel , u will see the alternator and right above it is the solenoid, so anyway good luck thought id share if u have anyother questions on over heating give me a shout im pretty much a pro in this field now lol

The fan speed actuator is a somewhat common gen I problem. Your LS does not have a fan clutch, so I don't know how you could have replaced one.

yea your not the first to say that , but on receipt thats what it says , so thought id put it in there, it was something that controlled the hydraulic fluid for the fan, not really sure on that , but i replaced it cause that was causing it to over heat but this time it was the solenoid , just thought id share
