i have an 8.8 "posi" diff ,who has installed one in the stock mark viii housing
when you install them do you change the side spider gears or are you just popping the axles back in and leaving them alone
the reason i'm asking is because the stock spider gears aren't machined for the half shaft clips , how do you get the axle back out once it is pushed in and locked in
i haven't tried it yet , its just something that crossed my mind

I was told to remove the circlips and not look back. :steering

If you think about it, unless you go off-roading and get air under the fully extended suspension, the half shaft cannot come out. The only other possibility is the sudden and complete loss of the wheel and hub, in which case you've got other problems, the least of which would be the half shaft. :wrench

that may be a good enough answer for me
i know front drive cars suck when the axle isn't in all the way and they fall out
but the rear doesn't have steering to worry about so you may be correct

Mine haven't fallen out since last February and 6000 miles ago. :D
