My plate light doesn't work, socket is corroded bad. I was wanting to replace socket with something other then the factory socket. I don't want a frame light as I don't use a frame. I was wanting something that will fit up in the hole in the bumper and not be seen.
Anyone have any suggestions on something a little better then the stock socket? Or maybe something you did, or have pics of.

I used (one) 5 SMD LED light in the original socket and this is the result. Same lights I done my interior in. 194'sI think and they were 6,000K or something like that.

No pic Sapp

Fixed- thanks

Mine is just a strip that was supposed to be a plate mounted bracket. It's not fancy, but it makes light

When I get everything else done i may make something more aesthetic like Rens, but for now mine works, and you can only see the strip if you're laying under the car, which I would say rarely happens....but yeah

I'm sure I could manage something a tad neater, but on my list of 100 things to do to this car, its 102

That bulb fit inside the lens, the 194? Where did you get them at again?

I'll send you a bulb if you get the socket. Yes, it fit right in the original housing and screwed back up with the plastic screws and lights up enough for me. I have plenty of these lights left. I think they're good for up to 80,000 hours, maybe 60,000 hours.

I replaced the socket today and super glued the plastic housing back together. Just needing the bulbs, I was thinking of going with the bulbs through out the car like you have. Just not sure what I need for the head lights.

They're coming to you. As for the headlights, you'll need a 9005 HID kit or two if you want to do the highs too. You'll need one relay harness for the lows for sure but they're cheap and everything is simple plug and play. Zip tie all the extra wire out of the way and you'll have bright light. 5000K or 6000K is what I'd get. The higher you go, the more color (kelvin) you'll have. 10,000K are blue. 6000K are mostly white with a hint of blue. 5000K are pretty much white.
