I got pulled over for a license plate bulb being out. I ordered new led bulbs and replaced both. The one that was out initially did not light up and upon further inspection I saw the old bulb was burnt and the socket looked cooked.
I assumed it was a wiring problem so not wishing to deal with that I dropped it off at the place that did my exhaust (Meineke) and they charged me $35 to fix it. I inspected it before leaving and it was fine.
When I got to my house I noticed it was out again, when I tapped on it, it would light up. Im guessing every bump causes this thing to go on and off. I took it back to the Meineke and got a refund after they told me it was most likely the socket.
I have also been putting off getting this fixed for months due to the annoyance caused by this so I hope the new bulb isnt fried.
Tldr: what is the part number for the license plate bulb socket? Any amazon links appreciated.
