Whenever my AC is on, I get this retarded hissing noise every few seconds. It's really annoying...

Anybody know whats going on? Need AC recharge? compressor acting up? IDFK.

Thanks in advance

Yeah mine hisses too but only when I first turn it on and it only lasts about 5 seconds.

Mine does too. I think it has something to do with the ac engaging or vent flaps opening and closing. Idk if they are still operated by vacuum or not. I know my 85 caprice classic was. Every time i made a change to the temperature, it hissed like a cat. :P

I have noises coming from my dash that sound like a gerbils running around in there bumping into stuff. It is related to the environmental controls cause it changes when I turn off and on my blower / AC.
Probably the internal gates trying to close certain vent tubes is my best guess, but I'm not sure how exactly the system works.

All of the LS's vent doors are moved by electric motors. Vacuum is not used. The hissing noise is probably from the AC expansion valve.

I do have my AC set to Auto.. that may be why... I'll try it on my way to work today.

It does it all the time for about 5 minutes, then stops. Every 20 seconds or so.

:p Mine does it all the time in the morning. Even if the AC isn't on. Like a gurgling under the dash. Another minor noise I've learned to ignore.

Mine doesn't have any engine or main accessory noises (yet)

But my passenger side seat electric motor has a totally different sound than my drivers. The drivers when you change position is a faint *hummmmmm* while moving.. The passenger side is a fairly audible *buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz* while its changing positions. Not too big of a deal, just thought it was funny how different the sounds are when doing the same thing.
