Bought an 02 lincoln ls v8 9/24 day i bought it told them power steering didnt sound right. Next day it sounded good. 4 days later Bad switch and dropped all power steering fluid. 2 weeks after that power steerings whining like hell. now 10 days later power steerings whining again! New york state says 3 tries and your out within 60 days. This is the 4th time i have had power steering problems. Pump replaced. Fluid was flushed the first time. Bad relay switch and sounds like another pump is shot! Whats your opinion on this situation? Lemon?
thanks

lemon doesnt apply to used cars. Used cars are buyer beware.

+1

Especially one that is six years old.

Sounds like a used car in need of repair, what kind of miles on it?

If you bought it from an auto dealer it must come with some sort of warranty.

55k miles and a lawyer i spoke to said there was a lemon warranty regardless if the dealer cant fix it i can get my money back as long as its in warranty period

yeah, getting your money back from the dealer is probably your only option. If you bought it from a reputable dealership, hopefully they'll want to keep your business and try to work with you. When you approach them, be sure to have documentation showing the fixes and try to stay calm. Good luck!

Heres the NYS Used car Lemon Law that applies to me..

5. If the same problem cannot be repaired after three or more attempts, you are entitled to return the car and receive a refund of your purchase price or of all payments made under your lease contract, and of sales tax and fees, minus a reasonable allowance for any damage not attributable to normal usage or wear, and, in the case of a lease contract, a cancellation of all further payments you are otherwise required to make under the lease contract.

6. If your car is out of service to repair a problem for a total of fifteen days or more during the warranty period you are entitled to return the car and receive a refund of your purchase price or of all payments made under your lease contract, and of sales tax and fees, minus a reasonable allowance for any damage not attributable to normal usage or wear, and, in the case of a lease contract, a cancellation of all further payments you are otherwise required to make under the lease contract.

Both of those fit and no the dealer refuses telling me they will not because i purchased it and signed the paperwork. The day we signed they changed there attitudes quickly basically saying you bought it your problems. They still haven't gotten me a new keyless entry

+1 with that but in some cases its certified used cars, not just any used cars. But I don't know NY's laws so it may cover it or not.

As far as it being a Lemon?

I really don't think that is something to complain about at all. I think its just a stupid mechanic that don't know what hes doing. And besides, how big of a problem can that be compared to some other things that are common with the LS?

I believe its just to far down the road from a routine maintenance:shifty: . Eventually something just went wrong.

the point is i dont spend 17 thousand on a car to get any noise like this you know? it gets worse every day and im sick of it

Welp after 2 days in there shop, they decided to give me my car back still moaning and say take it to a lincoln dealer monday so now i have tom. On the other hand i got the Arbitration paperwork in my hand and we are filing as we speak
