Does any1 know if the 2000 ls have turn signal flasher relays? I check the bulb, the fuse, the wires running to the fuse box under the passenger side dash, i have every took the light housing and plugged it in the passenger side to check the bulbs and they worked fine... but when I put test leads on the wires on the driver side, I get hot for the low and high beams but not for the turn and parking... Help Please..........

The turn signal relays are inside the FEM.

Does the indicator in the cluster flash when you select left? If so, the issue will be in the FEM, or the wiring from it to the bulb. If not, then the multifunction switch is the most likely problem (but it could be the cluster or the wiring between the cluster and the multifunction switch).

Turn signal saga.

:confused:I've forgot to mention that I have changed out the multifunction switch already. So the problem must be between the FEM.... AND the bulb connection... I don't know exactly what the FEM is and the location of it.

Front Electronics Module. It's behind the driver's kick panel.

Warning: It's not the FEM if the bulb in the cluster doesn't flash.

The SSP1 relay supplies 12 volts to the turn signal whenever the FEM/REM are awake. The SSP1 relay supplies 12 volts to fuses: 208.209,210,211,222 & 224. The ground signal for the turn signal bulb is not directly connected to the chassis. The FEM controls when to apply the ground signal to the bulb.

You said that you had 12 volts at the driver's side high beam which is Fuse 211 and also fed through the SSP1 relay, which would indicate that fuse 210 or the wiring from the fuse to the bulb is the problem. If fuse 210 is ok, then move on the bulb socket(The bulb sockets are poorly made) check the Orange w/blue wire at the rear of the socket for 12 volts, and then the inside tab of the socket.

I checked it on the socket and their isn't power going 2 the orange and blue. But i have power going from the fues box in the cabin.

does any1 have a wire diagram posted? I could track down the wire that is prohibiting my signal 2 work.

i posted the complete ford shop manuel on here a while back has all the diagrams and such

I assume you refer to Owlman's 2006 manual.
http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=69431

It only covers the gen II, the OP has a gen I, and there are a number of differences. Also, the service manual is nowhere close to having complete wiring diagrams. That's another book. I have the wiring diagrams for the gen II, but I wouldn't want to confuse the issue because I don't know what all of the gen I to gen II differences are.

Edit: I see that my assumption was incorrect. Sorry...

um nope its the complete shop man for 2000-2004 covers gen 1 ls and all other ford models and has complete diagrams and step by step for tear down. Its the same thing that we used back in my dealership wrench turning days

Turn on the headlamp switch to the park lamp position, now check to see
that your left park lamp and the left bumper lamp are on. If so, the problem is with the turn signal wire in the headlamp wiring harness. If they did'nt turn on, then disconnect the headlight harness connector and check pin #7 orange/blue wire for 12 volts. If you did'nt get 12 volts on pin #7, then you need to check connector 270b pin #2 orange/yellow wire at the fuse box. C270b(10 pin connector) is located at the top left of the fuse box(you will need to remove the kick panel to see the connector) If C270b pin #2 has 12 volts then you know the wire is the problem. If you did'nt get 12 volts the the problem is at the fuse box.

Two days after i replaced my headlamp HID bulbs, my left turn signal started acting up.
I have had few strange scenerious with it so far.

When i press the switch down, (sometimes) the indicator in the cluster starts flashing really fast. Also, i was at a light yesterday with the left signal on and i realized the indicator in the cluster had stopped flashing even though i had the switch on.

I figured it could have been a bad bulb, so i changed out the front signal bulbs and the problem is not gone.

I was hoping somebody could steer me in the right direction. Thanks!

Probably the multifunction switch, but (unfortunately) there are several other possibilities too.

Thanks Joe.
I just changed out the fuse too, but i doubt that was the cause, since it was in a perfect condition. I guess i am going to have to wait until it gets really bad and replace the multifunction switch.

My front turn lamps are not working, the tail turn lamps are working, and the flashing arrows on the inside also works, what could the problem be? Both lights on the front are out.

Wiring, fuse(s), bulb sockets, bulbs, and/or FEM.
