"Laws of Forumology" for us newbies

In case some of the newer members were not fortunate enough to receive a copy of the "Laws of Forumology", I wanted to post them for their benefit.

This thread may not belong here, but I thought it would be relevant to this forum since most newbies like myself start here.

This was done from memory, so if I missed anything please let me know. Adherence to the Laws will make your experience on this forum much more effective, and who knows, you just might learn something.


First Law
Length of membership in months – total # of help threads started is greater than or equal to 0

Second Law
Forum X ((Threads +Posts +Keywords) / Search),or Google = Results and Answers

Third Law
New member + Basic Question + No Search = Poking the Bears

Fourth Law
Answer/help from LvC member + a simple “Thank you” = a positive experience for all

Fifth Law
Theorem states that the willful disregard for any or all of laws 1-4 yields the variable “P” known as the popcorn factor. This will help determine how much popcorn that members will have to make while enjoying the subsequent banter between the offending newbie and the LvC member.

Third law is actually numbered as the 5th law (as outlined in the n00b registration packet) and it was written specifically because of me.

Yes, I stand corrected. This is also known as the "Frog Rule"
