ok so I have been working all the little bugs out of my car today and one last thing has me kinda stumped

no fan and no ac. what is the proper way to test the vcrm. and is there a way to test the fan from the fuse box so I can make shure all the wires leading to it are good?

I read somewhere that if you unplug the temp sensor from the engine the fan should kick on. well i did that and notta

can i test the vcrm with a volt meter?

Thanks to everyone for helping me with all my little problems today

Just take some this speaker wire (12awg) or something of the like and run directly from the battery to the connection directly to the fan. If it runs, then that would tell me you need a VCRM. It pretty much sounds like yours is bad already.

There are other ways of testing but that would be my way and it can be done within 10 min or less.

there are three wires going into it i dont want to fry anything by guessing do you know which ones for + -
there are a green and 2 blacks
by assumption i would say green is ground and the 2 blacks are speed 1 and speed 2
but guessing is for camels not for i

Read this first and give it a try just to make sure on the connection. One wire is positive, another is for when the AC is turned on and the other is ground.

The outboard black lead (uppermost pin on the motor if you do not have the pigtail) is the ground (negative). The blue lead (lowermost pin on the motor) was used to activate the fan when the AC was turned on (positive). The center lead (also positive) is black. It was activated by engine temp.

I DID! I was on the loo laughing out loud!

I had/still once and a while have this problem. I just reach under the fan plug in place and hit it. It comes on and 9/10 times stays on. When I start the car sometimes it looses it's connection somehow. So I would +1 that connection thing
