Ok next on list was this large 40K trans cooler. Now average people won't really need one this big. This is to complament my heat making 9.5 inch converter. I got this one large to totally by pass the stock in-rad trans cooler. This one is made by TruMax part#4739. I paid 92 dollars for it off ebay.
Ok I'm going to have to make a disclaimer here because this is my car and I work on it how I please. This write up does not imply that this is the only way to do this or the best way.Just way I did it. That said,on we go.
This shot shows right where the cooler will be mounted. Also shows the hood latch that is BOLTED and spot welded onto rad core support. To make install an non knuckle buster I removed the hood latch by drilling out spot welds and removed.
Here it is removed and you now can see the outside temp sensor and the computer box mounted to bracket. I had to remove this bracket and relocate these 2 things.
Here is a pic of removed bracket.
Here is a shot of the temp sensor relocated not need for brackets and such just drill and bolt in. This also shows where I relocated the comp box. Its nicely HD zip tied up.
Now here is the nice wide open area for cooler.
Here is the cooler all mounted and latch bolted back on. Also note no added bracket or bs,(2) 1/4-20 bolts going thru rad support and bolting right to the tabs on the cooler.
Here are the stock trans lines cut and new rubber hoses from cooler on. Note make nice gentle sweeping arcs with new rubber hoses no tight bends.
Now I know my trans will never overheat with this bad boy on there.
