Nope. We moved the air intake setup out of the way and he got in there with a tig welder. He put a patch on it with some 308L filler rod.
Here's what it looked like as he was finishing up. It was a TIGHT squeeze.
And of course my motto has always been fix it and rip it.
I haven't driven this car in 2 months so it was all exciting to me and tire spinnage at 60 mph added to the fun. This is the cool weather that I missed out on this year for running at the track. It was a decent day in the 60s here today. All I know is that it is faster than 13.59 and when the weather dips into the 50s things get giggity. LOLWOT in my all motor 98 Mark8 - YouTube

My brother got one complete (2v to 4v) with accessories like fuel rails, imrcs, tb, iac etc and it was powder coated black, for a whopping 660. =/ But, they guy didn't include the upper lid bolts...da fuq? So, anybody know where I can get some locally and what size they are, or would my best bet be svt and corral?

You should be able to get them from a local hardware store I think you just need to know length and thread pitch. I think DLF knows. He'll either pipe in here or else you should PM him. I can't remember off the top of my head but as we all know, that guy documents EVERYTHING.

It's weird man after driving the quiet blown car back from Kansas. When I drove the all motor 98 today, I think I pretty much reminded myself of the fact that this car currently pulls as hard if not harder out of the hole. That's why I emphasize so much to guys wanting to make their cars go faster to use all of the ingredients otherwise your cookies won't turn out right. The blown car as I have said has closed up exhaust and a stock converter and it feels no faster unless we are talking highway speeds where the tach on that car is already high. I'm happy with how this thing does with 154K miles!

Yeah, but you've gotten everything for pennies. That is a good deal IMO and at the bottom of the price range of what most people are paying for them.

Thanks Don! It feels considerably quicker but the track will never lie! It feels like the additional performance I gained when I did the intake swap. So if I have another ~.5 in ET out on the table between the dyno tune and lighter wheels I could potentially be inching my way towards the top 3 NA! Hopefully it doesn't shut me up because my signature is making claims at a low 13 slip!
