So I am not very mechanically inclined but I'm pretty good with common sense things so I installed my intake today by following the instructions. Took about 1.5 - 2 hrs in the freezing cold but I managed. Everything fit, work great, sounds awesome. But…when I really hit it down I start to hear a buzzing like maybe something is shaking. I noticed it the way to work after I installed it. Is that normal, I know the howl is normal and the air whining but a buzzing @ high RPMs? I haven't got a chance to go under the hood yet to check if anything is loose but I figured I'd post this now to see if this might be normal.
I thought maybe it was the pointless air tube “U saddle bracket” that is supposed to support the intake. I know that the bracket itself is larger then the tube and doesn’t even really touch it. But the metal bracket that supports the U saddle bracket is connected directly to the engine pretty much.. sooo I was thinking @ a high RPM the engine is shaking which then in turn shakes the bracket which hits the plastic air tube which then makes the buzzing sound.. I don’t even thing I need that bracket because the air tube holds itself up..
Anyone have any input on this 1?
I'll do some more investigating later today when I get up.
