I Well I have not posted here much, but I just reached 163k on my Blk/Blk 2002 LS Sport.
History on the car is got it with 48k in 2005. It had been serviced well and had all its oil changes on time. I continue to change the oil at 3k - 5k, and stick with the Factory Ford spec oil. The last 3 oil changes I swithed to the auto parts low end filters, due to reading about oil flow and feel that they flow oil a little more.
I have actully had very few problems with this LS. about 120k put on 3 alternators, in 4k mile intervals only to find out that O'reilly Auto Parts alternators fail. Had the Cracked Degas bottle problem, Clock spring problem, 2 front window cracked plastic problem and of course brake pads.
Only other problem was ran over something on highway, ( not cars fault) and replaced radiator. Did not realize fluid fan was damage, and had to go throught replacing fan and housing.
I have changed brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and transmission drain and refill 1 time ( not flushed).
On my list of repairs and maintenance is a few supension bushing peices, new struts, drain and refill rear diff fluid, and pull CD changer to see if I got a stuck CD in or need to get a new/used 1.
Biggest PIA, I've had to work on myself was rear brakes, didn't know about needing special tool. Tried removing coolant pump, I gave up! It was not bad anyway, it was the fan. Getting coolant system bled back correctly is also a PIA. Coil pack's go withoiut saying.
All in all my LS has been a good car, and good to me ( knocking on wood as I type). I have no payment on it, and I still like it. I'll post pics later.
