My name is Matt and I just recently got a 2001 LS. I love it so far, I have a V6 and dad has an '05 V8. Jealous of the extra 70 hp but i cant complain. Everyone seems full of good advice and helpful hints so i thought id join up, trying to do a few things to the LS this summer. Hopefully soon but im 19 and in college so money can sometimes be an issue ha.

Welcome, these guys are great about helping each other out. I would def recommend saving up a little "when I break down money" because its only a matter of time for the LS. I have been an LS owner for over a year (2002 V6 Manual) and have almost paid 1/3 my original cost in repairs. If it wasn't for the fact that I fell in love with this car back when I was a valet I would have sold it months ago.

I might be bitter because my clutch broke and its going to cost me about $1000 parts and labor.

welcome!

repairs can be a bit expensive if you don't know your away around youself. I just paid 200+ bucks for the back breaks. but its a great car and fun to drive.

im about to turn 71,000 miles, pics ill have coming soon ironically my digital camera just bit the dust and shes covered in salt from snow, i can say that my dad bought it in i believe '06 from and older guy with only 11,000 miles and it was garage kept and it had never saw rain or snow. Dad drives a lot and i bought it from him just a month or two back with just under 70,000. I had always wanted it and when i bought it from him he wanted another, so he got the '05 V8, definitely a little jealous.

yea, i actually just put the back brakes on a few weekends ago, they were a little tricky with that tool you had to buy but with dads help of course got it done, and i know thier expensive my sunroof track broke and cost $1500 to get replaced but otherwise love it

Hell 'o!

Get ready to DIY any work. The LS aint to bad on parts price wise its the labor IMO that kills the pockets.

Also intakes can be made cheap and exhaust systems can be done custom on the cheap which opens a world of options cause we only have one full kit left in production for the LS and for the design and RD put into it the intake kit available is way over priced.

Good luck, you'll hate us:D
