Just bought the wife a new car....holy $h!t

Just letting you guys now that I just bought the wife a 2003 Mercedes C32 AMG and all I have to say is wow! She might be getting the LSE and I might be driving the MB. I know that you can not compare apples to oranges, but I honestly thought the Lincoln was one of the best cars I have ever driven but the Benz is amazing. We test drove a C240 and I told her she could not get it, I thought it was garbage. The C32 on the other hand was like night and day compared to it. We got it with 32k on the clock, certified preowned warranty until 100k or 2012 for a price of $28,500 from a private owner. Good deal for a great car. I will post pics ASAP but it was dark when we brought it home.

P.S. I still love the lincoln even though I am ranting and raving about the new car!
 
Congrats on the purchase, but from what I've read, MB has a pretty lousy reliability record. Good thing you have the warranty. :)

Baisaclly the same car just the C55 has a V8 and the C32 has the V6, both are supercharged and both have around the same horsepower but the C55 has more torque and a much higher price tag because they were the replacement for the C32 and are newer. IMO if you can afford a C55, go for it but the C32 is priced less and it really is a great car for the price.

I ran a C55 from 50 to 110 and pulled 1-1/2 car lengths on him. He was amazed at the top end pull. Most of the Mercedes lineup is not my cup of tea but they have a couple of nice cars.

Me and my brother today ran against each other, he has a 2002 Cobra and it was dead even until about 130 and then I let off and he kept going so it amaizes me that you pulled on the MB. Also you ahve to remember you have a V8 and the benz has a V6

Bull:q:q:q:q. Either that or you better tell you're brother to hang on to that car because it's the only one in existance. Ford didn't build a Cobra in 2002.

Exactly- no 2002 Cobra was ever produced.
 
BTW - I have a 96 cobra and even when it was NA there is no way my LS would hang with it.

EDIT: By the way congrats on the Benz!!

I was in the MB not my LS, I wouldn't even try to race a Cobra in the LS.
 
i was gonna say if the ls hung w/ it i dont think anyone would want to buy it lol.

The one in the vid is rocket5979, he used to be on here but not no more. He has a self made CAI, Xcal2 and 100 shot. His best that day was 13.3. The Cobra ran 13.4 as his best that day.

Where's rocket at anyway? He seemed to be bursting at the seems with knowledge and information. Did he sell his LS?

Fastest Gen1 N/A I've seen. Mine has the LSK Aluminum Intake w/KKM and the Magna-Flow in that run. I now have the Xcal2 on the mid tune but haven't track tested that yet. Hope to hit 14.3.

rocket5979 still has his LS and just doesn't bother butting heads on here anymore about his knowledge. He is considering swapping the LS for something abit more crazy, nothing serious yet, maybe next year. I talked to him a few days ago.

That makes more sense. My 01 Cobra ran 13.20's with 3.73's and nothing else done. It ran 12.90's with gears and a tune. Now, my 04 is a different story! :D It has 505/510 at the wheels and ran an 11.82 at a buck nineteen here...on street tires. I know there's another 3 to 4 tenths in it with slicks. The mph says it's there.

C55 is normally aspirated. Both are about 350hp, the C32 at 349 and the C55 at 346hp.

Personally I would go with the C55 although the C32 is on my short list of must have cars. I sold my ML55 just prior to getting my wife a Navigator, and damn I miss that car.

Congrats on the new purchase...YOU WILL LOVE THIS CAR!!!
