2002 LS 3.9
103,xxx Miles
No codes other than current issue below
No vacuum leaks (fixed one recently while looking)
battery and alternator: less than one year and two years respectively
Fuel Pump, Filters( intank and out) Relay, Fuses; all replaced less than 12 months ago
Cats 1 is 11 months old, one is 1 month old. New Catalyst sensor in youngest cat
Issue:
OBD-II Trouble Code: P0102 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input
Which makes sense its unplugged, the issue is that when I plug it in and put the car in gear it dies. Unplugged idles fine drives fine. If I rev it a bit and put in gear when RPMs are higher it will sometimes be okay.
tested:
New MAF about 1.45 years ago
Tried cleaning MAF
Tested wiring Ground Is good, has power to the maf.
I am not sure how to test the two wires going to the Plug on the Computer, I assume I would do a resistance test if I can get the DMM leads to reach and then if I get an open circuit then I need to run new wire, or correct short.
However as it is like 15 degrees out I don't feel like taking this all apart to find out just yet.
Question:
Is there anything else that you can think that would cause the car to shut down when the MAF is plugged in and put in gear( Reverse or drive)
