I'm ready to do the Jmod on my 95 Mark. I'm not a mechanic and have been trying to find a shop to do it. The problem is I live in Flint, MI ( GM town ) and nobody seems to want to try the JMod. They all say if its not broken don't fix it. My question is does anyone know of a shop that will do the work ? I will travel some to make sure it gets done right.

i live in NC theres alot of shops down here
but that wont help try the performance shops that many deal with Mustangs that what i did and they charge @300-5oo out here in NC

Greg,

Get the separator plate kit from Blue Oval Chips. I have it in my Mark and after messing up my Jmod this kit IS the answer.

Lonnie gives excellent instructions and everything you need to do the mod, minus the tools.

It's pretty basic. I know working on a trans might seem daunting, but just follow the instructions and you'll be in good shape.

Problem with that logic IS..
it IS broken it was broken from the factory when it was brand new.

Any mechanic that is worth the grease beneath his nails will know this is a common issue with the early 4R70w's and it's a STUPID SIMPLE FIX that has a GREAT profit ratio for the mechanic.

I think you need to find a different set of mechanics.
I would have thought better from Flint Michigan.

I guess the idiots at the quickie lubes here in Texas have more mechanical skills than those in Flint

(print this message and take it back)

Mark 8 noobies that can barely change tires, succesfully complete a Jmod.
..Dont be Skuurrred

I'd run from anything in Flint MI...

I heard there is one fun thing to do there though... LEAVE :D

For $300 - $500 I will do jmods all day at my house. I got the bits and a drill, bring them on, line em up in the street and cash only :D.

If I can do it, you can do it.
