JL Audio Clean Sweep

I was wondering if anyone has used the Clean Sweep before on the Ls?
I saw it in a magazine and it seems pretty impressive.
Please let me know if you think this is worth the money?

it sounds like a pretty nice component. I saw the msrp was around 400, what is it actually selling for? much less than that?

naw theres a shop here in houston that has it for like 299

I had one to start with, it sounded 10 better than a system with a stock radio. It does not compare to a good 4 or 5 volt output radio.

the clean sweep is a great product. we carry it at my shop. i would definatly recommend it to anybody that wants to retain the stock radio

what exactly is this Clean Sweep?

With a RTA(real time analyzer) you would notice that the factory head unit purposely does not output a flat line (equal energy across 20hz to 20,000hz). The oem idea is to attempt to make a less than ideal sound system sound acceptable. What is worse often times the the eq curve will change with volume.

The clean sweep analyzes the oem output and automatically removes the peaks and valleys.

The result is no more screaming highs or boomy mid-bass, but clean sound almost the equivalent of an aftermarket head unit.

Downside: You have to use the clean-sweep volume control (or you mess up the calibration)
