Hello to everyone. I don't post much here, but I thought I would share 1 of my projects I completed today. Hope these phone pics show up.
do you have a part number? where you bought them? an estimate cost?
I bought the stoptech brake lines off of ebay. No part number at the moment, but they are all over ebay. The front & rear sets cost $99 a piece.
Ohhhh those headers are still with me. I plan on installing them within the next couple of months. I still need to get a quote from my local exhaust shop for the custom exhaust that will need to be done. I will definitely post pics when installed.Nice work.
Thanx
Onto the important question. How are those headers? Still have them? Installing anytime soon?![]()
Thanx man. I got a little impatient as you can tell by the blue/black wheel wells.Oooo shiney! Blue calipers are pretty nice too.![]()
So... No review of the product? Any troubles with the install.
My guess is the headers will require much more than custom exhaust...due to the tight spaces I cant see how they could be installed without dropping the Trans and/or pulling the engine. Unless you can do that yourself I bet your looking at a total of 15hrs labor by someone with talent before the custom exhaust even comes into the picture.
A friend of mine owns Muffler Tech in Sacramento (check out their site on the web for some nice custom work). He is familiar with T-Bird and S-Type having done custom exhaust on both and expects the job to be challenging. He was not too excited about doing the work since its tough to charge enough (even on a Bro deal) to make up for all the lost quick jobs his team would have to pass on. He also recommended Jet Coating the headers if you are going to spend all the time and money on the complex install.
I hope you get it done and it turns out to be easier than I imagine since we all are eager to see the result...A pre and post dyno would be key![/QUOTE
Yes, they suck to do, but there's no need to remove trans, or drop the motor.
LH side you need to remove the steering shaft to gain access, RH side trick, remove the cabin air filter housing, then the egr tube 2 nuts are right there in plain sight.
If your buddy at the exhaust shop thinks he's losing time on LS exhaust work, he can come with me to the dealer for a day and r and r manifolds under warranty pay time, oh by the way only pays 3.3 hrs for both.

Thanks for the advice. I will keep that in mind when I build up the nerve to actually get this done.

Yeah I'm hoping nothing too serious will be involved when doing the upgrade. I know for sure I'm going to have to extend the O2 Sensor wires and get new catalytic converters from my job. Getting a dyno will be tough, but I will see what I can do.
If I may ask, which headers do u have? I remember someone selling a set a year or so ago. Are these the same ones?
Sorry about taking so long to respond. I've been doing a timing belt on my girl friends car for the past couple of days. The headers are made by stainless works, but were sold to me by Kowalski. These have been passed around a lot, but now they are finally home.![]()
