George Bush's Latest Abuse of Power: Horse Meat Inspection?
Posted by Mithridate Ombud on January 14, 2006 - 14:51.

Can't lose those unsightly holiday pounds? It may be George Bush's fault. Marriage on the rocks? Probably George Bush's fault. Do you suffer from chronic halitosis? George Bush may be at fault.

It seems absurd but the latest mantra of the moonbat left is to blame George Bush for anything. The NSA spying? It's George Bush's fault. Forget for the moment that it started the year after he was born. It was George Bush's fault that local government in New Orleans was inept. The Sago mine deaths were George Bush's fault.

It is even impossible for Sean Penn to stop smoking, because of George Bush. The St. Petersburg Times blames George Bush for people eating horses:

Congress couldn't have been more emphatic last year when it voted to stop the slaughter of American horses for human consumption overseas. By a nearly 2-to-1 ratio, the House voted to withhold tax dollars for government inspection of horse meat, which would effectively end the practice. Three slaughterhouses say they will pay for USDA inspection of horse meat (instead of taxpayers), thereby circumventing the new law. One can almost see them rubbing their gory hands together in glee.

It's easy to understand the corporate motive: profit. But what is the agriculture department's excuse? It is supposed to uphold laws passed by Congress. Such abuse of executive power is common in the Bush administration

(I'll show you why liberals can't debate the issues.) So if politicians vote to withhold federal funds for something, that makes it illegal across the board? Then it looks like the St. Petersburg Times is saying that abortions are illegal too. What is the FDA's excuse? It is supposed to uphold laws passed by Congress. One can almost see the abortion doctors rubbing their gory hands together in glee.

Just don't blame George Bush for the good economy, no terrorist attacks on US soil since 9/11, greater wealth, preventing a recession, higher home ownership than ever before and having more minorities in higher positions than any prior President.
