Is this a good deal?

So should I only consider the dyno when I purchase a CAI?
I just cut down my stock airbox and used a universal Autozone filter.

So then when does a tune come into play?

The tune is well worth it anytime, especially with any CAI and really perks up the electric throttle response.
The pedal feels very exact and I'll believe the 14 hp claim from SCT for my Gen 2 car.

Seems pricey, the catback kit is only 700

Had my 2001 LSV8 Sport done at a local muff shop, 2-1/2 from cat back (there was an h tube around the mid resonators now a x-pipe) two flow master 40's and turned down tail pipes (different rear bumper cover)

Paid $395.00 for everything (Homestead, FL)
