Is mine the sport package?

D4 is for driving like a maniac when you are too lazy to use SST. D5 is for driving like an old lady. SST is in case you are cool. Reverse SST is in case you are a downright awesome bad-ass.

+1 lol.

Actually, I don't like d5 in town. It seems the car tries to use the highest gear possible, and I hate the downshift lag. But I almost exclusively use SST. I like knowing what gear I'm in.

What do Gen1 and Gen2 have to do with anything?
Actually, Gen1/Gen2 is the only thing that's really relevant to the OP's question. Both the Sport and Non-sport have the same headlight assemblies; the difference is between the generations. Unless, of course, you're talking about HID vs. halogen, which is strictly a 2nd Gen thing--and they even have the same housings, just different reflectors (and the HID electronics or lack thereof).

How dare you answer the question that the OP should have asked instead of the one that he did ask?

what about the oil cooler? i don't know about that

well, and i'm deviating from the OP question- which i think has been answered anyway, does the transmission have different shifting thresholds when in d4, or does it just lock out d5 in d4?

Just locks out D5.

Easiest way to tell if you have a sport model or non sport model is to go to the stealership parts counter and have them look up you vin number. I had Tasca ford look mine up and the guy said that mine is a fully loaded V8 sport. yet I have chrome on the front bumper, this is because the car was probably hit in the front and the used car dealer was to cheap or to stupid to know the difference betwen the 2 bumpers.
