is it gone?

I love the car but if they do total it out how is that determined and since my car is salvaged about how much you guys think i will recieve?

In the state of VA the rule for flooded cars is that if there is more than $1000 in water damage the car is automatically considered totaled. That may be different in your state, but the idea is that if the total is over $1000 its because electronics got wet, and later on other electronics/control units will probably fail as well, making the car a huge lemon.

Call your insurance agent and ask if there are any shops they recommend you take it to, and ask them about the salvage title thing. They'd know.

I am not for sure but I think that for a salvage titled car to be relicenced, it has to be inspected after it is rebuilt. Then the car is given a rebuilt title instead of a salvage title. If that is the case I would say that you would get the value of the car with a rebuilt title which is around 20% off of book value.

That is how it is in Illinois anyway. But if you are paying for comprehensive coverage you should get paid for what the car is worth. Don't let State Farm get away with screwing you over, raise hell with them until you get what is right.

Well guys I think your still gonna have me around!

Got call from Ford today and said initially they were gonna put a BRAND new motor in it.
It was gonna be $9000!!! With Labor and said that State Farm probably wont cover it and total the car out. Got a call later on and said the adjuster came by checked it out and said to go ahead and replace it but with a used motor. So Ford called me back with the info and they said they got a motor with 30k on it and asked for my authorization and i said OK! State Farm will warranty the motor and everything! Im so excited:dancefool

:L

Thanks guys for all your help and insight!

Thats cool that you are getting a new engine with only 30K on it, with a warranty. I'm surprised that they even mentioned putting a used engine in it.
