what is the year of your car and the intake system you run, have you had any any, even if small problems.

i've had a ton of problems i run an early 03 v8 with a k&n fipk kit. ford says to stick to the stock intake because the throttle body is getting too much air and goes to an etc engine failsafe mode! am i the only on with this problem. ive seen guys on here with the exact setups that i had, my setup ran good for one year then i was bombarded with codes and other problems.

I use the KKM CAI and I have had no problems thus far. Try reinstalling the stock airbox or maybe even trying the KKM. I hear this type of problems all the time on the K&N CAI and this is again why I went with the KKM CAI.

how long with your setup, like i said i was good for a little over a year then it went down, my stock is a little damaged.

Well, I am pretty new to the forum and just put my KKM on last Friday.....

However, from what I have searched and have read, the KKM seems to be more reliable than the K&N setups and yield better results in the long run.

Try reinstalling the K&N all over again...of course don't forget to take off the negative battery cable.

Are you sure it is the intake? I mean if it ran good for a year then all of a sudden it is giving you problems it shoulds like something else. Try putting the old intake and filter back on to see if that fixes it.

Also, have you cleaned the filter lately?

an authorized ford dealer read the code and said it needs the stock intake but mine is a little damaged. ok fine i'll pay for it if its gonna fix the problem i told the serv. tech., the service tech said it might need additional work, pertty much saying it might be something else they just wanna sell me something i dont need! im confused and dont have alot of money to spend so i wanna get it right the first time.

RUN.... do not walk, to another Dealer! Because you need a 2nd opinion.

From reading all of your posts regarding this matter, I'm pretty sure your problem has nothing to do with the K&N intake. It could be the MAF, the throttle body, an injector, a manifold gasket.... in other words, it could be A LOT of things. But your intake? I doubt it.

But that's just my opinion..... Your milage may vary.

"Also, have you cleaned the filter lately?"

if so, did you over oil it? I have read where the oil in the filter gets sucked into the MAFS, and polutes the sensor...just a thot
