ok well i got my iphone a few weeks ago and i went to the local stereo shop to get the incar hookup for it. all he had was the hookups for regular ipod where it connects via dock connector in the bottom to an rca which somehow hooks up to the car. now my car wount play with that wire but a standard ipod works. my iphone will charge but not play music over the cars speakers, it will just play out of its own.

i was thinking to try a different dock connector to rca wire. maybe the one with the video wire too instead of just having the red and white sound wires, but no hooking the video part up obviously (http://www.pcuniverse.com/product.asp?pid=3837543&m_id=32 ). i'm thinking that maybe when ipods changed to having video the dock connector slightly changed.

anyone know if this will work?

this is what i have in my car now, something similar to this: http://www.clubmac.com/clubmac/shop/detail.asp?dpno=7157556&store=clubmac&source=cwbfroogle

Doesn't the iphone have a mini stereo jack like the ipod? Just get a cable that is mini stereo to RCA and you should be fine.

yea but A) it doesn't do calls over the cars speaker system that way, and B) it doesn't charge the whole that way.
