Introducing the 97

my car is the same color and i would absolutly love to have the same shine yours does. we need a driving vid kirk! i wanna see how it pulls up top

Can you move your tune to a x3? I have one and can tweak tune, though I never do

Congrats on a beautiful 97 LSC gen 2 bro. When you taking it to the track?

I have no words to describe the beauty of your car. You have the car that most of us on this forum would love to own. Once again, congratulations. We love your car....

Oh, one thing though. Why is that CobraStar emblem on your driver's side wheel sideways? :shifty::D

Thanks for the kudos everyone. I originally never planned on owning this car but it all came together nicely. I am truly blessed to own such a masterpiece. :)

its nicer in person.

This is true. :)

I won't be ready to run it until it is set up right. It needs gauges, meth monitoring, a stall converter and some headers to open it up along with some tuning and a different MAF setup. I already know what it runs. It ran a 12.9 @114 mph. So it dogs like hell out of the hole and I am going to fix that first. The silver car will likely see the track first. I need to get my low 13 timeslip out of that car yet. At this point, my silver car launches just about as hard as the blown car if that gives you an idea. A head to head race with both of these cars on an 1/8 mile track would be VERY close.

I forgot to rotate the emblems. :p

Damn I love that car..I have pics of that on my computer from 5 years ago that I had used for my desktop background..well before I ever had a mark viii or joined this forum or even knew who Thomas A was..worship this car! And good to hear you will be storing the car somewhere safe..I would be sooo pissed to come out and find a door ding from some careless idiot from your complex or have someone break into it and vandalise it..but eitherway have fun with it and take care of it!

Sorry to hear about your car cover being stolen, Sick Car!!! regardless, enjoy it and welcome to The Forced Induction Realm!!!

damn my 'puter died in chat.. im off to bed

edit WOOOO 1000 POSTS YEAH!!!!

Damn dude that car is sick, you got the best of both worlds, classy Lincoln and a ton of power haha. How loud is it in person? Does it have cams or no?

And what exactly does a torque converter do? All I heard is better acceleration, so my 5. slow will be getting a high stall tq converter next year, maybe 3800 stall.

Damn, I got ya beat already. I must be a ramblin' man! :p And I knew you were having a malfunction of some sort. No one closes the door on me!:p;)

It is very quiet with a slight groan on steady throttle. It gets a little bit louder at wide open throttle, but not by much. LOL Then again, my other Lincoln has headers with an x-pipe so going from that to this was like going from screaming metal to soft jazz music. :p And yes it has cams. 4 of them to be exact. Without them, the car will not run at all. ;) Nothing aftermarket under the valve covers though.

A stall converter IS a torque converter but it is a specially designed torque converter that is looser and slips a lot more to multiply torque and keep the car much higher in the powerband. Imagine the tachometer in your car having a very loose spring on it. That is how it is with a high stall converter. Any slight throttle and the rpms will jump up quite a bit. With a Centrifugal style supercharger setup, the unit has an impeller that spins upwards of 50,000+ rpms to create boost pressure. They respond much better to a higher stall torque converter since boost begins to build significantly after about 3,000rpms on the engine. With a tight stock converter like the car has now, it pretty much only shines at the top of the gears where the rpms are high. With a stall converter once you floor it, the rpms will climb much faster and stay high while shifting with significantly less "fallback" on the rpms into the next gear change which will keep the blower spinning and producing higher boost levels more of the time. The car will launch a lot harder and stay in the boost which equates to much better performance out of the supercharger. To give you an idea about it only shining up top with the current stock converter, the car ran a 12.9 which is a horrible time for a supercharged setup but it went through the traps at the end of the track at 114mph which is a low low 12 second 1/4 mile time. Once it has a stall converter it will launch and be in the boost better all across the shift schedule and will likely have a low 12 in it by that point with the exhaust opened up and some more tuning.

Haha i know it has 4 cams lmao. Any plans on putting "aftermarket cams" in? I want a high stall torque converter now lol. Thanks for the quick info

Haha. Just bein' a smartass like I normally am. ;):p

I have no intentions of bothering with the cams at all in the near future. If it came down to it, I might, but by then I would be waist-deep in the engine and probably going fully forged at that point. But never say never. The future is uncertain. ;)

Its a dam nice car.
Video does not do the car justice.

Sleeping in a safe spot. ;)
