Can Anyone tell me what would be the easiest way to remove the rubberized coating on a gen 1 interior trim. I would like to paint it.

I've used Easy Off Oven cleaner, and I've soaked pieces in the tub with boiling hot water with good results.

Does the oven cleaner or boiling water just lift it off? or do I have to scrape the S--t out of it?

It gets is so loos that the rubberized substance with fall off. I do however recommend following that with a 600 grit sanding.

I remember FLM fan saying he rubbed it off. He painted a bunch of his trim pieces includeing the info center trim. Search his posts. Maybe he put a thread up a few years ago.
