Any 1st Gen guys know how to get the black bezel out of the dash that holds the stock base stereo? it has that little vent in it...

I wanna yank it out and paint it but when I had the radio out I couldnt figure it out for the life of me...

I have a later Gen 1 with wood. But I would think the same, just yank it off.

edit: carefully....

I've never removed that panel, so no idea.

From my 93's manual:

* Remove radio

* Disconnect sniffer tube from the back of the applique.

* Remove the four screws (two each side of the radio opening) by reaching down through the center finish panel hole.

* Through the radio opening release the two snap tabs (one top and one bottom) and pull applique from instrument panel.

By the way, when they say reaching through center finish panel hole, they mean the hole where the message center keypad panel was. (they want you to remove that first)
