intake whistle

I just put a home made intake on my car. it whistles, like really really high pictched. its 3" pvc, silicon'd all the barbs and the joints, along with glue so its air tight.

would just the way its built cause this noise? it happens at around 2000rpm and if i go hard acceleration it will do it when i let off the throttle.

Well, i'm not sure if it's normal or not, but i had a prefab intake on my civic and it did the same thing, probably has to do with the extra velocity entering the intake.

Any car I've ever put an intake on whistled. Not really, really high pitched, but it was noticeable.

mine does it too.. and my 02 malibu did it too and pretty much all my friends cars with a cone filter or CAI does it

this is not a normal sound ive gotten from a intake. its not a "deep howl" or anything like that, very high pitched. very annoying lol. if its normal sometimes then i guess ill belive it.

my 00 malibu does the same thing with a cai and a cone filter. It almost sounds like a bov after I let off the gas from a hard acceleration. I switched to a round filter once and it stopped....

I have a 2003 LS V8 and I put the K&N Air Charger and CAI on mine and it also whistles. Mine only does it at low rpms with very little throttle. When I throttle up, it goes away and you hear the growl of the engine. It kind of sound like a turbo pop of valve when I hit the gas and let off.
