I just purchased a KKM Tru Rev intake for my 05. After I installed it now when I start up the car it starts and idles for 2 seconds and then shuts off without any message lights or errors of any kind. Any suggestions?

You have a leak.

Double, triple, and even quadruple check everything after the MAFs!

Also, leave the bat disconnect overnight so what it has learned from your driving habits have cleared and drive like normal ( average speeds ) for around 15 miles to readjust to the new air flow.

Have you resemtly oiled your air filter. Too much will clog your filter. I had the same problem. Make sure it's completely dry. Then put a very light coat of oil on it.

I put back on the stock air box and all is clear now. There has to be a leak. I'm thinking its on the maf housing there seems to be a small gap where it attaches on. Does the kkm come with a gasket for attaching the maf I maybe didn't get? Its pretty dark here on the east coast I'm gonna try again in the morning

If its before the MAFs it wont do this. It will just suck in unfiltered air. It has to be after the MAFs as unmetered air is getting in.

Also, like I said, disconnect the battery for a hour or two and see what happens. If it works out I would still disconnect the battery overnight. IIRC the KKM does not get oiled.

Thanks for the advise...im going to disconnect overnight and put back on the KKM in the morning and see what happens

IIRC the KKM does not get oiled.

I didn't know that, I have K&N.
But if you can't find the leak on the intake, a wet air cleaner could have you engine starving for air. It's easy to check. Just pull the air filter off and run the car for a few seconds. If that's your problem, you'll notice immediatly.

I have discovered the issue lied itself with the direction the maf was mounted into the intake. Problem is, the holes on the outer housing only allow for it to be mounted backwards? Maybe someone with a KKM could clear this up for me. Unfortunately I bought this second hand so I didn't get anything documentation with it.

Does this picture help at all as far as the orientation? Probably not, but that's all I have from when I had one of those. Although maybe it will since the wiring harness should have the red tab facing up even though looking at it the MAF sensor housing will have one of the Torx bolts in the same spot which ever way you put it.

Figured it out. Simple solution I just overlooked. The guy who shipped it to me put the cone on the wrong side of the housing making the orientation of the maf backwards when inserted.

Thanks for the pic Tom...made it easier to see the problem

:shifty:

He sent it assembled?;)

My guess is he took it apart to clean the filter before he sent it to me and accidentally put it back on wrong. No biggie, just gave me a headache for alittle while till i figured it out

Is some of these KKM true rev ordered from LSKoncepts? How you liking it ??

lskoncepts is definitely the place to order from for customer satisfaction IMO.
