i have 2005 lincoln ls v6 and was wondering if i would be able to get the cluster from a V8 that has the fuel trip options on it and sswap it out with the one in my car so i could have the fuel information..

Possible maybe, but those features of the message center would possibly not work. The PCM configured for the V6 does not normally send the needed data to the cluster, so it may not be possible for it to do so.
Also, you would then have to tow the car to a dealer to get the cluster married to the PCM. (Anytime you swap the cluster or the PCM, they have to be put into secure mode so that they can exchange keys. Also your keys would have to be reprogrammed in. All of this must be done before the car will even start. This is an anti-thief feature.)
Easier and maybe cheaper solution.
1. Sell V6 LS.
2. Buy V8 LS.

lol still owe about 8k on it so the trade in wont be an option...thanks for the answer though i never thought about the anti theft part of it but it all makes sense now..i miss the good old days of plug and play parts lol
