Installing car stereo - jbl help

Alright so I will be installing my new car stereo in the mark over the next few days.

I remember when I had the JBL system in my SHO there was a bypass harness.... does anyone have that part number? Or a pinout for the speakers at the amp?

I'm going to be installing a Rockford Fosgate p450.4 amp, and 4 RF 6x8 speakers - and a Sony head unit...

The scosche harness (for the head unit) I got lists 95 and up Mark VIIIs, but I think it might work here. It's part number: FDK106

Anyway... thanks for any help. I've installed a few stereos, but there's spotty info on the Mark's wiring.
 
first off the stock wiring is small and cant handle too much power
second the speakers are wired in series front to back (only the tweeters fade)
as for the bypass harness and radio adapters etc, no need for the bypass if your rewiring, and for the radio wiring adapter, all you need is the wide gray (standard ford radio) connector and run rca cables to the amps
 
I would like to use the stock wiring if possible in order to make things easy. How much power can it handle? Should I just re-wire the speakers instead?
 
popular consensus is rewire, gotta think that wire is 10-16 years old re wiring it isnt that hard when you start
 
Yeah rewire it... I did it with 12 gauge monster cable and it wasn't hard at all... probably took an hour to wire the whole thing... you'd be a lot happier in the end!
 
Hmmm... if I was gonna guess I would have to say stock is either 18 or 20... it's not as thin as I was expecting... but it could just be the casing... but the problem with it is that it's so brittle... probably from age and the way it's braided... but yeah it's pretty simple just get a wire coat hanger and go to town... the hardest part is gettin it through the door thingy... the rubber boot is a little bit of a hassle but besides that it's super simple!!
 
I'm going to be starting the project after work today. Does the rear panel come off? or should I just take off the grill for the speaker? Anyone have a good writeup on the front panel removal?
 
The rear just pop the grille off... it has tabs on the top so start at the bottom and just gently pry out... it's pretty easy to access around the panel... the front you have to take the whole door panel off... it's probably one of the easiest door panels ever!!... it has one bolt holding it under the armrest... then it just lifts and slides off... just becare full of all the connectors... there is a write up somewhere if you just google it you'll find it... good luck man... it's pretty easy though
 
Got it done - it was a bit of a pain but it sounds so nice...
