Installed sub, car won't start

Hey so I did something stupid here,

I installed a sub and amp into my 01' LS V8 and now she won't start. All the electronics work; radio, lights, windows but won't start. When I try it won't turn over, a relay clicks and the car horn makes a soft honking noise, (not a full on sound like when the alarm is triggered) and the gauge needles move then reset.

Any ideas on what I did to my car?? I have to work back to back 16hr shifts this weekend and I need it to run TONIGHT.

Ur battery is too low to start the car. I say this cuz I used to play my radio and have all the doors open and trunk open and all interior lights would stay on. Then I try n start it and it does the same thing. Recharge the battery n u should be alright
 
Well, the battery was good before I installed the woofer and amp. But now it's freakin dead, lights aren't turning on and horn won't work.

I'm going to recharge the battery for a couple hours and try it again.

Is this a common occurrence for a sub and amp to kill a battery or is it likely I hooked something up wrong? I don't see how I would have screwed it up, negative cable was grounded to chassis, power wire to battery with inline fuse, and ran the wire to the head unit...
 
just as a friednly reminder to the remote wire...make sure that your amp isn't staying ON all the time. even though you thought you may have ran it to the right one...just double check to make sure. Even the best make mistakes when dealing with wires and cables :)
 
Is that sphincter valve the one located next to the blinker fluid overflow switch?

Smitty, I double checked and I connected the amp to the blue wire with the white line. So from what I looked up that's the right wire, yes?

Let me explain the way i ran my remote wire.

2000 LS Sport V8: Alpine Amp hidden in the trunk deck. Positive from the battery and Neg from the body. Ran a remote wire from the trunk behind my backseats, underneath the door sills, up to the fuse box on the passenger side. connected to a fuse that was active when car was on, and not active when off. Cant take a pic now because of weather, but when it breaks...i will try to show ya

I have a stock head unit. Alpine-6

i did the same thing in my mark viii
 
Pick up a cheap battery charger from walmart. I got one for $25 and it charges up the batteries to 100% and its small enough to keep in the trunk.

They also make some that can jump start the car with a fully dead battery.

well either you killed the battery, during the install (from the doors being opened while you where doing the work) or from playing the system with out the car running.

having an amp will increase the amount of power the car will use (usually by a lot) and will shorten the amount of time that you can listen to the system with out the car running.
