Hello!

This is my first post, so please bear with me if you have seen this 100 times. :D I tried the search thing, but nothing seemed to fit my situation closely enough.

Like the subject says, I have a '05 LSE with heated and cooled front seats. The back seats have the perforation for the air conditioning, but no switches, ac/heating units under the seat, etc.

Could I just find a '03 to '06 with the parts (switches, AC and heating elements, connectors) and plug them in? Are the harnesses and wires already where they need to be since I have the front heated and cooled seats?

Has anyone added this option themselves to a LS already equipped with heated and cooled front seats?

Any tech info would be helpful. :)

Thanks guys!

Welcome to LVC! I love to see a fellow MN LS owner join the ranks! I'm up in Grand Rapids. Pics of your LS?

Oh, I don't have the slightest idea on what would be involved, because I've never disassembled a front h/c seat. Do any LS's come with rear h/c seats?

Sorry, there were never any cooled rear seats. But heated rear seats were available. I think somebody did a swap but now I don't remember, sorry! :D

I doubt that this is possible to do. There has never been a rear-seat heated/cooled option. There is no room under the seats for the blower assembly, and no where to discharge the air from the other side of the module. The LS's front seats are controlled by the climate control module, and won't function without it, and the module controls two seats, not four. You might be able to get the guts from a different model Ford car/truck that doesn't tie into the climate control.

All and all, I too would really like to have heated/cooled rear seats, but it doesn't seem reasonably possible.

Welcome!

It looks like you have your answer already but let me just add this. You might be able to add the more traditional style of heated seats. It wouldn't run off of the climate control system, though. I had an F150 with cloth seats and it had heated seats which I can only assume was an aftermarket addition. I think you'd just have to peel the leather off, insert some sort of wire lined pad and put the leather over top of that. Then there would be a serparate switch to control it. Sounds like a lot of work, though. But for our cold MN winters it might be worth it!

actualy guys ive seen the heated rear seats on a 04 LSE, that might help sorry i dont know more

Yes, as owlman stated, heated seats are an option for the rear seats but not cooled seats. I don't see why you would need to add this or want this, I don't sit back there and I don't let anyone in my car. :D

Thanks! PM me if you ever find yourself around the Mall of America. I'm about 5 minutes from there.

None yet. It's a stock '05 Sport with the LSE package though. All black, and no sunroof. I gotta get the camera out before the snow flies... :(

Ah yes, now that I actually READ the brochure (instead of just drooling on it), I see it says "heated", not "heated and cooled". Phooey!

I don't know if I like your attitude! j/k ;) Hmm... On second thought, since it's not really plug and play I might just agree with you. Unless the wiring/harnesses are present for (sigh) just plain old heated rear seats...

Thanks! :D

Thanks for the thought! :) I would like to keep things sorta stock though. Perhaps buying the rear seats with the factory heating element, and matching door mounted switches? If that is as plug and play as it gets, I'm game.

My arms and legs are actually freakishly long, and I have removed the front seat to accommodate my space requirements.
Actually, I have kids. And I like them. Sometimes. And I have friends, which I like less than that. ;) Besides, I have to work on the luxury aspect of the mods to follow on the LS before the performance aspect. I need to convince my wife I'm not making another hot-rod. ;)

If you don't let anyone in your car, might I suggest something with 2 seats? My other car works well as a buffer against providing taxi service to those wanting rides... :steering

Thanks for the input guys! I think I'm gonna like it here! :)

Yeah, nobody likes the realistic engineer. Note that I didn't say it was impossible, just impractical.
