I'm going to order ebay coils within the next couple of days I just need a quick vote from people who have bought from either of these vendors. alanisdeals or world-autoparts

I bought a set of 8 for $140 from global automotive which looked OK but the connector pins were different (larger). If you are looking to pay $40+ each you may as well buy genuine Motorcraft parts from somewhere like Five Star Ford.

+1 on what gal54uk said. Order mine from Global-automotive and 6 of the 8 were too big....

I read somewhere that alanisdeals were good.

However, I was able to call global-automotive back and after some pictures of the differences and the description of the ones I needed.. They swapped out the ones that didn't fit with ones that did.

I'm happy about it now... but it was a 2 week ordeal

I bought a couple of new Motorcraft DG-515 coils from a private seller for $30 each and no problem. Same guy is now selling Motorcraft DG-529 coils which he states are also LS coils. I can't find a reference anywhere (google) on that number. Are they an old design? I need another one but that number scares me.

I bought a set of 6 from alinisdeals and they where great. Super fast shipping and all in boxes with ford part#'s on coils.

Got a whole set of Visteon coils for ~$35 shipped each. Worked like a charm, bye bye misfires baby!

definitely buying a set from alains this week. Been dealing with the misfire between 40-60. now it is going beyond that.

Yeah I've been having that for about 6 months now but I only drive it 2 days a week and usually just around town but with summer coming up I'm gonna hit the road. Sounds like alanisdeals is the winner, thnx ppl

just bought a set from alanis, will put them in this weekend and let you know. I already replace the vcg's but she is still missing. i hope when i pull the coils there is no oil in there, i will be pissed.

Nice, I still gotta get these ordered but my mechanic is booked for the next 3 weeks so I couldn't get em put on right away anyway. Before you guys say DIY.. he's only charging me 60 bucks to install vcg's, coils, plugs, front pass window regulator

Man I'm a delivery driver and he's friends with the boss and gets free food from us whenever so he helps us out and fixes our cars. Of course I don't deliver in the LS but he's got an LS too so I trust him working on it.

just put the coils in from alanis, so far so good. cel went off, no more hesitation. i will give it a week and make sure its fixed, feels like a real car again.

Nice, I can't wait til mine are in!! I might just drive somewhere really far away I dunno yet

So are you replacing the VCG b/c of a current or potential oil leak?

I did the vcg's before I replaced the coils. Fixed it for a week then the coils started going. No oil and its running on 8 cylinders now with the new coils.

Good...not the only one here with that problem!!!! Thanks for all the info every has posted, I'm in the same situation with the misfires, oil burning, and coil issues. It's gonna be another 2 weeks before I can order new coils(bills), but since I'm doing those...how much are the VCGs usually(for an 8 cyl.) ?!?!

I'm thinking I may as well do the whole sha-bang(plugs, coils & VCGs) since she's got about 116k on her and I highly doubt anything has been done to her since I bought her back in Oct.

Okay, let me change my question on ignition coil. What the difference between the V6 and V8 ignition coil? and replacement?

v6 model number DG517, v8 model number DG515, you get 6 with the v6 and you get 8 with the v8. replacement is probably somewhat similar, do the vcg's while you are at it.

Just installed a complete set from Global Auto, and all 8 went in just fine...Makes me wonder why I didnt do this way sooner
