My '03 V6 has had the same hesitation between shifts before and after the $3000 of warranty work they did when I bought it in '05. Now after constant complaints, my factory warranty is over, they finally tell me my rear seal is leaking and the tranny is slipping, $6000! Well, my aftermarket warranty put in a rebuilt tranny, and had to replace the solenoid pack on that before I even picked it up. It's running smoothly now, but I think it's run it's course with me. I still love her though.

My 20"s are multifit and will slide right onto an '05 CTS that caught my eye. I'm also considering the Charger, 300C, or Infiniti G35.


I emplore you to share your thoughts and comments on my choices in a replacement vehicle.
 
I'm pretty much in the same boat that you are, I think I have my mind set on an Audi S4.

My wife and I both drove a CTS and a LS back to back the same night. We went home with the LS. Power, comfort, ride, room. The CTS lost in every category. I couldn't imagine owning a CTS after having our LS. If you are serious about a caddy, I'd look to step up to an STS.

As for the rims, I'm sure there are many other cars they will bolt onto, and there are always ppl looking to buy rims on here that will fit the LS.
 
Thanks Guys! I'm only able to make a lateral move to another vehicle right now. (CTS would be backwards as per Boomhower) I'm in limbo right now, the rims bolting onto my next vehicle won't be a deciding factor. The LS is very nice though!

I just gave my opinion. That's what you asked for. Hope you didn't take it otherwise or find it condescending to you choice of vehicle. I know the LS and the CTS are not exactly in the same class range, but I went into a test drive with Cadillac being the supreme in luxury in my mind and was disappointed in the overall performance of the CTS. We actually went to the dealership for the CTS and had plans of purchasing one. I had never heard of or seen an LS before. Once we drove it we feel in love......With the car.
 
The is300 is not something you would look into after owning an LS, the back seat is like sitting in a saturn, if you are older than 15 years old or taller than 5'5" you won't fit in the back seat. Unless you will not have passengers in the rear seat, I wouldn't recommend an is300.

The Acura TL is a very nice alternative.

Sorry to hear about the tranny woes. I have been down that road many times in my 00 LS V6 which I traded on a G35.

The G is a great car and proved to be very reliable in the 26k miles that I owned it. It recent got totaled in an accident and everyone walked away without a scratch and have the utmost confidence in its safety features.

My only concerns were with comfort. The car lacks the cabin space of the LS as well as the trunk space. Plus the seats were down right rigid and did not make for a great road trip car.

I give the car high marks on performance and safety and low marks on the comfort and features such as rain sensing wipers.
