Well I took my 03 to the dealer for the headliner and power steering issue. I thought I had sensed a little delay/harsh shifting and a slight buck when down shifting to 1st in auto mode but wasn't 100% sure.

Well just called my SA and he confirmed that the tech, the same guy that spent 100's of hours working on my 00 LS, found something wrong with my tranny. He did not have the notes with him so I am not sure what the problem is.

I am not too worried though because this guy that is working on my car has been around for a while and is a true blue mechanic not some decision tree guesser.

BTW 28k miles on it so if you are getting close to the warranty expiration in miles or years get it in soon. FoMoCo covers the repair for 12mo/12k miles so that could get you some beyond the warranty coverage.

Hey, maybe we crossed paths today. I just took my '05 back to the dealer today because i have 49,956 miles on it. I told him to recheck all the coils and plugs and to check the tranny. Told him it would shift kinda harsh when gas is punched and it downshifts, which it has before. Figured it'll atleast get them to check things out. This will be my last freebie visit. Warranty repairs to date: New throttle body, four new coils, two spark plugs, one wheel sensor, new rack/pinion, new rearview mirror.

Yikes you barely slipped that check up in. Don't get me wrong I love this car but it escapes me why they couldn't fix the coil and tranny issues with this car in nearly 7 years of production. I usually only takes me once to learn from my mistakes and I don't have a team of engineers to show me where and how I made them.

Hopefully they don't just give lip service to the check up. Did you buy an aftermarket warranty?

The service advisor was actually pretty cool about doing a last chance checking of the coils and tranny. Either they'll find something or not. And like you said, if anything is fixed then i get a warranty on those parts. One thing i forgot to mention. The rental they gave me this time was a Mustang. Not something i would buy but its a load of fun to rag on for the weekend. I'll tell ya, for a V6 with only 210 hp, that Mustang will move and it shreds the tires when floored. Pretty cool. Can lay a good 10-15 ft burnout patch.

Well teh found metal shavings in the tranny fluid. So they dropped it, bled it and replaced solenoid pack and valve bofy plus a few other parts. YIKES!!!

Head liner was fix by using silcone sealant. YIKES!!

Could not verify customer, me, complaint on sounds coming from power steering. But I trust the guy that worked on my LS so I will take him at his word that it is ok.

well it is leaking fluid so i am going back for some tweaking on the tranny.

the squeeky steering there is a TSB on 2003 to 2006 LS i just had some work done on it, let me find the TSB number so you can go back and take care of it, if you have the same issue i had you only hear the squeek at low speeds and doing parking manuvers right.

Thanks! I knew I wasn't just be a worry wart. I bet he couldn't identify it becasue it is very noisy around their shop. They are located next to the interstate and a truck stop.

The dealer couldn't reproduce the problem when they took it for a 10 mile test drive. I had to wait a week for some time, drive it for three miles to make the problem occur. Take it to the dealer and have the mechanic move the steering wheel.

Four days later I had a new rack & pinion, tie-rod ends, & 4 wheel alignment.
