Sorry to sound like a total nimrod but why exactly can't I bolt my 96 Cobra intake onto my gen 1 IMRCs ? I understand the gen 2 are better if for nothing else but being composite and providing a thermal break, but the ports on my Cobra Intake look the same as the pics of the B heads and gen 1 IMRCs I have seen. I was already planning on keeping the IMRCs vacuum actated (I found a good source of info on this) but was still curious as to why I actually needed the other IMRCs. Yes I have done a search and did not find exactly what I was looking for.

On a side note I may be selling the intake anyway. My Moms health is failing, and I may have to get to Montana in a hurry, like others my funds are tight. If I do it would be for 325 + shipping (what I paid for it)

Thanks in advance

You can use yours, most people just have done the swap on 98's with composite. I dont beleive there is any difference in function between metal/composite.

P.S. Sorry to hear about your mom. Family is always on the top of the list!

93-96 mark viii IMRC are completely different shape and won't work with Cobra intake manifold .You have to use gen II IMRC's or 96-98 Cobra ones ,96-97 Cobra had aluminum IMRC's

OK one says yes and one says no. Not to be pain here but, any pic's for reference?

Thanks 98, family first, no doubt

I said yes because i have some metal IMRC's that i got somewhere, but they were made into deletes i was told they were gen I's but they must have been 96 cobra ones!.. But 95sc has a gen I so i'd beleive him..

Can you pick up a set off of svtperformance.com for a good price:confused:

I found a set easy enough at a good price but funds can't be spent there at the moment. I'll probably just sell the intake and use the $ to drive back to Montana.

Anyone want it? I'll have pic's next week. PM me your e-mail addy if interested

Hate to see you give up on it.. But i would post it in the For sale section with a couple of good pictures
