k so lets first start off with the vehicle its a 2000 ls8 with 80000 miles. coil packs have been replaced and this has fixed 99.9 percent of the issues. love this car... so the problem im having iss under wot beteween roughly 2000 and 3000 rpms theres a slight tick i can hear.. it clears up after 3000 rpms and is non existant upon regular driving... cars got a cold air intake all sensors are clean and functioning running 94 octane.. sometimes the ticking isnt there at all wen the car is warmed up.. what could this potentially be anyone??? also sometimes i get like the slighest bit of hesitation under wot (like half second) before the car up and goes.. its barely noticable but i wud like to fix this issue before it gets any worse... check engine light is on, it hasnt been scanned yet.. if i disconnect battery no check engine light till about 130miles or more each time...

LOL...

ticking from engine, check engine light on, REPEATEDLY, and still doing WOT dumps... LOL, get ready kid....

i come to a forum to seek help and all i get is critisizm???im no punk kid and im tryn to best describe the scenereo in which i here the tick. so help wud be greatly appreciated... plz keep the opinions to yourselfs.. this car is absolutly meticulas. and im more then capable of addressing any issues with it... jus need a direction to look in... the tick almost sounds like a ping its far from causing any problems performance wise.. i dont beat this car... id only like to know its got it wen i want it

The obvious (and common sense) thing to do is get the CEL read instead of just repeatedly clearing it...

ya batts dead must jus be running on hope then...
hope that a compitent person can address some issues

ok smart guy,

A. the battery comment refers to this thread http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=80674 in which im inferring you have the same common sense

B. Your overlooking the CEL which you might be able to pull a logical reason for your so called "tick". Instead your wanting us to diagnosis a noise coming from your engine that could be a magnitude of things, from a pulley, to a top end knock to a failing oil sender, to a fouled plug, to a failing COP.... Amazingly these vehicles have systems that monitor these things and sometimes even tell you whats wrong.. No point in wasting any of our time without starting there first.... So knock the sand out and go have the code read.. then we'd be more than happy to help (like we've gone many times before you, new jack).

Geez.

Okay let me break this down for you...

1)just saying that means you are a punk kid to the folks here.
2) "i" should always be capitalized when by itself.
3)I have no idea what was so tough about spelling it out.
4) Again, making yourself appear lazy
5)Unlike your grammar and spelling
6) It is, ticks don't add horse power, they suck blood. Also it is hurting your vehicles performance. They don't make them do that on purpose

Grammar Nazi much?

But in all seriousness you need to get the code read. Like G-rell has said, it could be anything from a COP to a bad valve. But, the code will point you in the correct direction.

Yes, I absolutely hate how people write. If you want to come off as intelligent you had better write as such. If he wants us to think he is an uneducated punk who knows nothing, well then we see how we replied already.

I have no Idea what is so hard about writing it out and using proper grammar. You started learning about it at age what 6, 5, maybe younger depending on your parents.

If we allow them to talk like this, there will be a day when our President will stand in front of this once great nation, and say, We ain't got no mo war, or nutin, we won da war.... And no one will think anything of it... What a shame.

I completely agree with you. It was meant more as a joke, but I understand when it is necessary. At this point it is just adding fuel to the fire. :D Time to sit back and watch it burn.

Yes sir, I know. I use slang when hanging out with friends and such, but I try to come off as intelligent as I can when dealing with strangers or the internet in general. I just hate the abbreviations, and acronyms for every day words. I understand when the acronyms are used in place of huge Latin words in medical and similar fields.

But the lol, and all that crap has to go, it's making youth stupid.

AH very big possibility... But i was making a point.. Being able to give any helpful info from "my car ticks at low RPM's" is mute without checking the codes first...

It's a point that I completely agree with. It's why I stayed out of this one up till now.

By clearing the CEL and not getting codes read and running the car at wot you are in fact beating on it.

Stupid is as stupid does.
