I just came across this 20% printable coupon that's good until tomorrow. I used it to buy some seafoam (which is now $10 a bottle!) and a headlight restorer kit (hope it works).

Just print it out and take it in. It doesn't work for motor oil, tranny fluid, etc.. but just read the coupon to see what it excludes.

The 3m headlight restorer kit works awesome. Used it with great results. TIP: the instructions don't say it (I think) but the foam thing (there's two... the black one) goes under ALL the sanding pads not just the 3000grit one. Also make sure you don't let the 3000 grit touch the sides or dry out or it will destroy itself.

I wouldn't know. Cheap brake controllers are not my specialty. I like my trailers to actually be stopped by the brake controller when I step on the brakes. (yeah, yeah, I know, the trailer brakes stop the trailer, you know what I mean).

I recommend the Prodigy if you're on a budget:

If you want absolute peace of mind, go with the Voyager.

The prodigy will set you back about a buck twenty plus a pitgtail to plug into your truck.

I'll save you the trouble .. Don't buy anything from Autozone ... I guess Oil and Cleaning products but don't phucken waste your time at GD Autozone ...

Autozone the store for Auto Retards ...

But I am renting the camper, so i wont need it often. do they sell them at AutoZone

It's not a matter of how often you will use it, it's a matter of it WORKING when you need it most.

Any camper/trailer store should have brake controllers.

On the budget you're looking at, ask for the "Our Father who art in heaven..." model. They're pretty cheaply priced.

IT's called that because every time you'll step on the brakes with 3 tons pushing you from the rear, those will be your thoughts.
:D

Point taken, geesh!

Never cheap out on the brake controller... I paid $130 for mine and I wouldn't got a dollar cheaper than that...

Don't Shop At Autozone

Autozone is just fine. Since I got laid off from my old job, I'm working there until Feb when the BCSO academy starts. I work there because the other parts stores around are on par with (Napa, Carquest) or worse than (CSK OReilly, Pep Boys) Autozone.

Autozone the store for Auto Retards ...

Yeah, you've PMed me asking my opinion in the past, I guess you'd better forget what I said now that you know I work at Autozone because apparently my coworkers and I are all retards.

VatoZone (Oh, here we go!) is OK for anything non electric or drivetrain related, such as air freshners, waxes and the like.

As mentioned earlier, I was low on oil stock, so I bougt 12 qts of Mobil 1. The guy tells me "you get a free oil filter with this purchase". I looked at him and said "Doubt you carry the filter I need"
"We carry filters for all applications, Sir."
"Well OK. 2008 Aston Martin Vanquish S."
"Huh?"
"Where did I lose you? I'd like a filter for a 2008 Aston Martin Vanquish S. V12"
"Uhhh. We don't have that filter"
"I don't care, you said I get a free oil filter with this purchase. I want to redeem the offer made to me."
"We don't carry filters for that car. That's a dealer only filter"
"It is? Then, why pray tell did you tell me you carry filters for all applications?"
"I meant all common applications"
"Right. Just ring me up, Skippy."
"Uhh. OK. Total is 88..." and some change, don't remember the exact total.

With respect to my buddy Medium here, VatoZone employees (for the most part) are retarded. 1st off, there is no such thing as a 2008 Aston Martin Vanquish S. Second, filters for those cars are not Dealer Only items.

And for the record, I don't own one. I wouldn't know what to do with 12 Cylinders.

Then, there's the time when one of them started arguing with me about how my Supercoupe had a rotor and distributor.

"Hi, can I help you?"
"Yeah. I am looking for spark plugs. 1990 Thunderbird Supercoupe. 3.8L V6 Supercharged"
"Is that a Pontiac?"
"What?"
"The thunderbird... oh wait. that's a Firebird. FORD, right?"
"Ummm... yeah. FORD"
"Here we go. :blah: :blah: :blah: plugs. I can look up the rotor and distributor for that car if you want me to."
"What?"
"The rotor and distributor, you should change those when you change spark plugs"
"Can't. Don't have one"
"Yes it does."
"No, it doesn't."
"It does, it's listed right here, see?" as he turns the screen towards me
"Ok. I'll buy those as well, but could you show me where they go? I'm still learning"
"No problem Sir, is your car here?"
"No, I left it at home, you're going to have to follow me there... Of course the car is here!"
So, we go outside, I pop the hood, and he starts looking... and looking... and looking some more.
"Maybe it's in the trunk?" I asked. "The car has a lot of weird stuff in the trunk" (Not really, but I was playing the dumb customer)
"No, it wouldn't be in the trunk. Let me get a guy who knows a little more about these cars. Hey, John?! Manager, knows me and most of my cars.
John comes out, and ding ding says "This guy want to know where his distributor is"
"There aint no distributor on these cars, its a DIS"
"That's what I tried telling him, but he wouldn't listen. He said the computer showed a distributor and cap, so I asked him to show me where they were"

John chuckles, looks at his employee and says "This guy forgot more about cars that you'll ever know. Don't ever argue with him when it comes to cars."
"But the computer..."
"The computer isn't always right. When a customer comes in and asks for spark plugs, chances are he knows his car. And it's not "this guy", it's "this customer" Go to lunch"

So now, I shop at NAPA. I can call them up, tell them what I'm after, and it's waiting for me when I get there. I would have gotten the oil there as well, but unfortunately they were out of stock, and VatoZone was the only place in town that carries a good stock of Mobil 1 0W 40

Yeah, you've PMed me asking my opinion in the past, I guess you'd better forget what I said now that you know I work at Autozone because apparently my coworkers and I are all retards.

Well I guess there is at least one Autozone store where one can now go and have someone behind the desk who actually knows what they are doing.

Sorry to hear about you losing your job. Work is work though ... At least you didn't have to become the Wal-Mart Greater LOL ... Good Luck ...

Nice one Frogman .... sound almost as bad as the time they told me that the Mark VIII came with two different transmission..

It was a guy who was a transmission tech now working for Autozone who worked in a department, not transmissions at the Memphis Corporate Center who told me don't buy from Autozone. They don't know what they are doing, but they pay me good or I wouldn't be here ...

But I've also had an Autozone have troubles with getting me the oil I asked for... not that's sad.
