I have a 2000 LS v8 I just bought it from someone and after running it for a good month or so I could tell it needed a tune up so I bought the plugs, the air ilter, fuel filter and went to work.

Spark plugs: Old ones were gaped waaaayyy too big from what the sticker says
Filter: Was black!
Fuel Filter: A bit sluggish not terrible

So I figured it was good to go, the car ran great.

Then a few days into it the car shuts off on me while at a red light. It started back up like normal.

I notice that since the change of plugs the RPM's have dropped. Before on D4 at a light it would be at 8 or so. Now it drops to like 6.5

This only happens too when the car heats up to normal temperature not when cold, when it's cold it runs perfect. But once it reaches mid temp the idle drops. Also when you first come to the light, the RPMs are at 7 and then after 15 seconds it drops to 6.5

I checked the TPS and cleaned the throttle body and checked the MAF and figured maybe it was the IAC. I just put it in this morning but it still has the same problem. What the hell??????

Why would it do this after the tune up??? the new plugs have the right gap as indicated on the car. There are no air leaks anywhere. And like I said it only does it once the car has warmed up to mid temp.

Please help!!!!!???

no the coil packs are fine, the scanner also doesn't show anything except a minor lean in one of the o2 sensors but not enough to be causing shut off and such low idle.

before the sparks I had a misfire on cylinder 3 which is now gone with the new ones.

the fuel filter is outside the tank behind the front driver wheel.

FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR????? I was just reading that if it spits out too much it causes low idle. Any thoughts????? I have noticed bad gas mileage but no other problems, smells a bit rich on start up. Pump was tested and is good.

did you get new coil packs?...and is the fuel filter in tank?...

the fuel filter is on the drivers side front wheel side. under the splash guard. and i had my car die on me at a red light too (embarrassing btw) and it turned out it was my battery.

yeah i changed the fuel filter already. i dont know i just found out the car has no regulator but a transducer so i guess on monday ill be going to my brothers to check fuel pressure from and to that transducer to rule out or find out if its the pressure and where it is coming from.

any other ideas.....just drop them by.
