ICE + Telephone pole = one less mark

Thought some of you may be interested in this. It's a few pages from the Mark VIII Product and Marketing Guide that Lincoln produced for the dealers prior to the introduction of the Mark VIII. My salesman gave it to me a little while after we leased our first Mark VIII.Product and Marketing Guide

Sorry about the quality, but the book is too wide to fit my flat bed scanner, so I had to photograph them with the camera.

Best regards,
Frank

That really sucks, but at least nobody got hurt because that is the most impertant thing.

Whatever happens to the car grab the headlights! I would be interested in buying them even if they are cracked a bit...

Well the adjuster looked at the car and would like to total it.... HOWEVER, he only wants to give 4K for the car. I understand the car is a 96, but it does have under 40,000 miles on it and is in excellent condition (just look at the headlights). I understand them totalling the car, but I think 4K is on the low end. They claim the damage is over $7000. and they are probably correct.

They are letting us get a second opinion from a body man that is a friend of the family. If nothing else, maybe we can get a little more than the 4K.

By the way, the adjuster claimed that one headlight is trashed. I have not looked at the car in the daylight as it is not at my home (near my parents home 2 hours away). So for all the PMs and request on the headlights, I really can not make any promises yet. They will let me buy the car back for 10%. I am keeping the motor and tranny to build. If we buy the car back, we will part the rest out. The rest of the car is in near perfect condition.

Today, I was at a company pheasant hunt and the guide had a 94 sitting in his driveway. The car looked pretty good, but the grill was busted out and the hood looked a little tweaked. He hit a deer and they totalled his. He bought it back for $75.00... yep.... $75.00. Before anyone ask, the headlights looked like a cloudy urine specimin.

I recieved 4400 for my 1994 Rose Mist with 270ks and rust holes coming thru the rear rockers!! They didn't have a number in their system due to the car being to rare, which meant no on the spot cheque at bodyshop. The adjuster said he would have to enquire with dealers etc. I thought I was going to get screwed and he came back with 4400.00. I bought the car back for 440.00.With very light dammage. I will post numbers from NADA for you below. The formatting will be messed up but it will give low retail and clean retail and high retail. This can be used to argue the amount.

Low retail Clean retail High retail

Base Price $2,650 $3,775 $4,725
Mileage - 39,000 miles $1,325 $1,325 $1,325
Options

Power Sunroof $225 $225 $225
TOTAL PRICE $4,200 $5,325* $6,275

* This Retail price is based on a clean vehicle history report.

I would not settle for less than $6000 for that car with those miles. The first offer is always a joke.

update

The car is being totalled. We are still working on a deal with the insurance company and trying to settle up. I think we are going to get the 6500.00 or close to it. We are also planning on buying the car back for salvage and will be parting at least some of the car out. As soon as I get all the information, I will post what we are planning on doing.
