Looks like the fronts been hit, the paint from the bumper and hood seem to be of. It says rebuilt title.
but If its in working condition, you think I should be worried? rebuild does mean that it was in a wreack but fixed, right?

I'd sell my 98 for not much more than that. It's got 80K, and isn't rebuilt. I think there are better deals out there.

"Rebuilt" means the car was totalled, then someone bought it from the insurance company and fixed it up.

So the insurance company decided that they could not fix the car without spending more than it's worth. But someone else has bought the car (typically at ~10-20% of its value) and fixed it up, presumably cheaply enough to resell the car and make a profit. Which means you have to wonder what kind of corners they cut to get the repair costs that low.

It looks like the ad's been taken offline, but if they installed mismatched airbags (they should not be in different colors) and the photos showed evidence of a repaint job, I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole. If the visible repairs are that sloppy, I hate to think about what kind of hidden damage it'd have.

On the drivers side airbag cover there is a Ford emblem in it. Did the repairer know that this was a Mark VIII and not a Thunderbird? They put enough Lincoln emblems in it to tell. :D

I think you should look at others.

Yes the Airbag was replaced, it should be the same color as the steering wheel.
Some people do not mind buying a car that was WRECKED see if you can find out how bad it was damaged. Look at it more than one time because you won't see everything the first time.If you are happy with the quality of the repair then buy it.:D :D

PS the front wheel is on backwards

When a car gets wrecked, or totalled - and is fixed, it's repaired. Meaning what got bent might not have got replaced, and might have only been straightened. So, the main unibody .. if it got wrecked or BENT, and it got straightened, and you get in another accident just like the last one, and the speed of the accident was equal or greater, damage will be worse the second time.

Since it's already been foiled up, it'll foil up alot easier. Kind of like with a piece of cardboard.

i got my 98 lsc with 100k and 1 owner in great shape for 3grand... all it needed was a seafoam treatment cause the owner was old and i dont thnk it ever went above 2000rpm... i think theres prolly more deals out there on cleaner cars, but maybe its worth it to take a look at it in person to try to get an idea on how bad it was.... sometimes insurance companies "total" cars that arent exactly "totalled"

the t bird has a bird in it thats a ranger or explorer air bag, and im wondering if the pass side is even there, kinda looks like a dark hole, id run away

It might be the pics but it definitly looks as if the fenders, bumpers are a different color than the hood...

You'd be surprised how badly some of those rebuilt cars are put together. With a little work the car can still look mostly straight but have terrible damage underneath. There was a kid in some of my classes who bought a Probe and brought it in for something where they took some of it apart and it was terrible. Very expensive to fix. I would look elsewhere.

I am going to pass on this one. There was alot of stuff messed up. paint job was bad, The cup holder was broken, power seat buttons were off, gen I side reveiw mirror(Look at the driver side pic), and the air bag light. Too may problems. But wow that car had so much more power then my car. I think LSC really helps. I mean you actually feel the pull. So my next car has to be an LSC

Why not make your car an LSC imposter. Get some duals and a few other mods and enjoy some new found power.

The 3:27s vs 3:07s shouldn't even be noticeable. The duals either.

I agree get a nice dual and get 3:73s and keep the one you got.

well we need another car, so i am looking for a LSC since I have the base. What would you guys say, Mark VIII or an LS or something else? see, I don't think there is any other car that can compare the Mark VIII out there, so its knid of hard to pick another car. BTW this car would be for my Little brother, as his first car, just like me.
Oh yea, that car had its HIDs working and te neon tailight too.
