ok guys, i'm new to the site and new to the ls. i've recently purchase an '05 ls v6 with 4800 miles. it was in a flood. i know, i know, you don't have to tell me how stupid i am. here's the thing: i drove the car 1000 miles home. no problems mechanically. i love this car! only problems are as follows: the check engine light, abs, and airbag light are on. only when i returned from my trip did i notice the brake lights don't work. none of them. i have turn signals, hazards, and parking lights (which are on the same bulb). all the fuses are good. i checked the brake light switch and found it had a wire broken to it. so, i got a new switch and a new pigtail for it. still, no brake lights. question, if the REM is bad, won't all the rear lights be out. is there some sort of multi-function switch somewhere? where is the ground for the brake lights? btw, the bulbs are good too. does the abs light being on have something to do with the brake lights not working. also, my srvc (p) light is on in the dash & my parking brake does not work. does this have anything to do with it? no other warning lights are on other than those mentioned. any ideas? i've got a dvd manual on the way. i am mechanically inclined but not so much electrically. i'm only worried about the brake lights right now, and not the other stuff. i just want to drive it again!! any help will be greatly appreciated!

check for power going into the switch. check all connectors below the flood level for corrosion.

sounds like the REM (rear electronics module) located in the side of the trunk, it was probably shorted out.
