I need a new Battery

What is the best battery in peoples opinion to put in my LS, the Motorcraft battery, or something else?

Optima series batteries, Despite weather or not your running a high end Audio system.

Wal-mart has the Red top for $200. You can leave your lights on all night with one of these and not worry about your battery being anywhere close to dead. For straight up reliability, spend the extra $100 and get a good battery, not the garbage you get from dealers.

1) Stay away from Optima, especially when needing a specific vented battery for this application.
2) An "extra" $100 to get a "good" battery is over double the price of an actual "good" battery.
3) Weather =/= whether.

Expensive but a great battery - had it for a year and love it - Has vent tube, 930CCA, fits nicely in the LS cradle, 2 battery zones making it almost impossible to fully drain, and made by AGM. Can be purchased at Batteriesplus stores:

Optima themselves say not to use this battery in the LS.

"Due to venting issues. In the unlikely but still possible leak." So the battery is safely meant for under the hood.
If optima has a vented battery, then go with that!

Been running a yellow top for 6 years now. Played 2 X 1000 watt subs running off a U.S Amps 1000D. played for 75 minutes engine off, bass cranked. Batt still had juice. Car fired up no probs. mind you, that batterys worth $350

Yes, you've gotten away with and will probably continue to be okay. That does not begin to prove that this is safe. Many drive drunk and get away with it, but not all do.

yeah buddy that could detonate and asphyxiate.. not smart.
hydrogen affects your lungs and there are a ton of variables when it comes to detonation.

he may be 'safe' but a child or person with low lung function in the back seat may not be so lucky

You said WalMart, not me. I said Advance Auto. I got my battery for ~$90 after coupon there at the beginning of the year. The battery is reliable and rock-solid.

Optima has gone way downhill, and are not the best choice anymore. If you want AGM, there are several much better options...and even less expensive!
