Traction Control + Beach Sand = BAD!!!

After looking at Manoli's thread for calendar pictures, I thought I would drive around a few places and take some pics for the fun of it. At the third place I stopped, I get down to the beach, see a small patch of soft sand, pick up some speed to get through it, as soon as the wheels slipped the traction control cut the engine and I just sunk like a stone. Yay! I knew there was a reason I didn't like driving on the beach :P

But some guys with a truck had a towline and pulled me out. Cost me a round trip to KFC to thank them, but still cheaper then any professional option and they were pulling in when I got stuck.

Here's a picture, which would have looked better if I had closed my door and cleaned my car before hand. Ohh well. Notice the rear tire sunk up to the rim. Fun fun! At least I got an idea of what my car looks like quasi-lowered, LOL! :)

And yes, I know I need to remove the B-Pillar chrome strips, but they are on there reallly good and the one I removed on the drivers side ended up slicing my hand open! So they can stay, for now.

those rims dont look that bad on there. theyre growing on me more when i look at your sig lol

I don't think that's the type of picture they'd like in the calendar  nice ls

The traction control sucks on these cars. I dont even know why its there. I had to drive mine in the snow one time and it took 45 minutes for me to get up a very slight hill that was 1/4 mile long.

i agree. Mine activates everytime the rear wheels hit a hard enough bump.

I hate it when its raining and you accelerate from a stop light and the rear tires go over the white stripe and the car takes a nose dive and feels like 4 COP's took a dump at the same time.

LOL! Even if it wasn't stuck in the sand, I'm not really trying to get into the calendar anyways. I was mostly just looking around at different places for the fun of it. I'm just going to add the photos to my own collection :)

I did kind of get the shot I wanted, which was the skyway bridge in the background, other then that it's all at the wrong angle. But after I got stuck I gave up pursuing the dream, so to speak.

Thanks. I like them for the understated look. They look nice, but aren't screaming at you at the same time. They are the same color as the car and do play with any light source well thanks to the curves in the center. Here's a larger sig pic:

It was taken after it got detailed a week ago, and rained on 5 minutes after which is just how it works for me. Clean the car, and it rains. The front bracket is also on the list, right after the B-Pillar chrome pieces. LOL

Here's the rest of the pictures: http://azrael.crashsys.com/ls-pics/

Mine does that with you make a turn out of a driveway too sharp and end up dropping the rear wheel off the curb. Stupid thing dies and dash lights up. Annoying as hell, cause usually when that happens I'm trying to pull into the closest lane and gun it to avoid traffic.

The purpose of the TC (not Advancetrac) is to keep the car from spinning-out.

Seems to me like it's working just fine. If you want to drive in snow try turning the TC off.

I think Advancetrac is better. My wife drove her '05 in bad winter weather last year and didn't have a bit of trouble. I have regular traction control on my '06 and it is definatly not as good.

I just call the TC button the "Boring Button". You hit it to turn boring mode off :)
