Story.....I hit a pot hole and the rear air bag is not working anymore.

So I am going to buy the air bag from arnott inc for $100 but should I buy the solenoid?

Info from tech

Release the air in the rear air bag by removing the solenoid. Then, loosen and remove the lower shock mounting bolt and remove the rear sway bar link pin. Next, press in each of the 4-point clips that hold the bottom of the air bag to the lower control arm. Once each of the clips has been released, slowly lower the control arm until the lower part of the air bag is free from the lower control arm. Next you have to rotate the air bag until the twist lock is free from the carrier frame. Remove the bag from the car.

Do I have to remove the lower shock mounting bolt and the rear sway bar link pin? Because the instructions on mark viii.org and Arnottinc don't state anything about removing that.
this is the the lower shock mounting bolt and the rear sway bar link pin?

should only be the swaybar link pin, since one side of the car is lifted, Ideally you want to lift the rear together.

One other thing. When I lifted the tire, usually the car lifts up first and then the tire. This time the tire lifted up with the car. this is normal right? (for an car with bad air bags?)

So after the swaybar link pin is removed, do you have to push down the lower control arm so you can get the air bag out?

Thats how I did mine, took about 5 minutes to get the old bag out. Dont be afraid to go in with a screwdriver and break the plastic tabs, it makes the bag easier to come out.

No.

Once the solenoid is removed, you can squeeze the air out of the bag so it will fit through.

alright thanks. I think I am good with the bottom but now I need to see how to do the top. I guess I will find out how to get that off when I get in there.
Basically you just twist and it should come off. I will try to get pictures of every thing so people have visual veiw.
